agree, but one's thinking seldom becomes popular if the thinker is not popular.
Implies, an unpopular thought became popular when the unpopular thinker became popular.

Van Gogh's works became part of mainstream art only much after his death, himself becoming popular due to the rising popularity of his works. But I indeed recognize that the key to your argument is the word "seldom" since it leaves room for exceptions. Therefore, I was unable to destroy your argument
