I am applying to Rutgers for Spring 2011. By that time i will have 1 year and 8 months of full time professional work experience. Rutgers part time students have an average of 5 years experience and i think i remember watching an interview with a Rutgers admission counselor and he said applicants need at least 2 years experience.

Will this automatically disqualify me? Are there cases of applicants being admitted with very little experience? I'll try to get a high GMAT, maybe that will give me a better chance.

The best way would be to call Rutgers and talk to an admissions officer. If your 1yr 8 month experience has been of sufficient quality, why not? From what I gather, you plan on going PT? PT students have typically more work experience so that is something to think about.
If you have the time, energy and motivation ,regardless of whether you apply or not, why not give the GMAT now? If your experience is kind of vanilla, why not try move up the ladder where you work? Or add some interesting ECs?
Just my 2 cents!
