I want to take the GMAT this year, and I dont see in the stickies (seem to be outdated) or in peoples post, which is the best book to get.

Kaplan GMAT 2007
Official Guide 11th Edition with cd rom
Cracking the GMAT with dvd, 11th Edition
Kaplan GMAT 800

Those are the candidates, so which is the best book to go with?

Yep, the OG is definitely good. I also got recommended by a coworker to order Manhattan REview's books. I called and got them directly from the company. They're helpful too, good detailed explanations.

If you're looking to score anything up to 700 -
OG 11
Any GMAT CDs to get the adaptive format

If you're looking to score above 700 -
Kalpan Online GMAT - spend the 599$
OG 11

Kaplan can be demoralizing though, so be careful not to let it get to you.

Kaplan 07 or PR Cracking the GMAT for detailed strategy. You can study either one, or both to select the best strategy for yourself.

Kaplan 800 is for those difficult questions, esp on verbal. The math questions are not as tough as what they claimed.

Finally OG 11ed is for practice on official Gmat questions. It is purely about practice because only a little strategy is mentioned.

If you need to get only 1 book, it is the OG.

Sites like this (and testmagic) are really the best resources. Otherwise, of course the OG11 and I used Manhattan Review's books. They're pretty good too.
