I got 4.5 in writing [#permalink] New post 09 Feb 2007, 08:19
I just received my official score report. I got 4.5 in writing (please do not use my email as excuse for my depressed verbal score anymore). My low verbal score did not change. Such a low verbal score simply means I can not read and write in English. But how can I get 4.5 in writing? I am so frustrate about GMAC’s software. When I did my practice test I never scored below 28 in verbal. The way the software scored makes my so frustrate. On the score report, they did not tell me how many question I got wrong. I think I get at least 20 out of 41 questions correct.

Some propositions:
> Use this frustation by turning it into postive and constructive energy :)

> Change your score by double practicing the V section (I did 4 times the 1000 SC document) :)

> Come back and "kill the beast" :)

GMAT is a computer adoptive test, and therefore it's not a matter of number of questions you got right but rather at what difficulty lelvel you started making mistakes. E.g., you could get all of the 400 level questions right but every time a program bumped up the level to say 500, you would pick the wrong answer. So GMAT kept giving you questions at 400 level, hence the low score.

Study more, buy more verbal books, and practice! You will succeed! :)
