I have about 6 weeks to study - help me build a plan! [#permalink] New post 26 Nov 2008, 21:02
So I took the MGMAT course but walked away with a bit of dissatisfaction since I didn't really push myself to do the hw. My highest "unprepared" GMAT score was a a 460.

At my disposal are my MGMAT books, the Q & V GMAT supplementary books, and the OG Guide. I'm using MGMAT's test to help me calculate my weak spots to attack first.

So I'm dedicating about 2 hours a day and more on weekends. I'm evenly splitting my study time on quant and verbal, even :!: though verbal's lower. My official AWA is a 6.

I need help constructing the following:

- How frequent should I take the practice MGMAT/GC/MBA.COM exams?
- How many of the in-action MGMAT problems should I do versus the OG problems versus the GC problems here?
- How much re-reading should I do before applying myself to the problem sections?

I know that I really did myself a disservice by not starting earlier, but I'm beyond that now. I'm scheduling my test at the end of the first week of Jan, shortly before the round 2 deadline. I may just take it again another month from then and inform the adcoms. I'm really shooting for somewhere between a 660-700, nothing extraordinary.

Any solid recommendations, I can certainly follow.

Thanks!!

Firstly, it sounds like you signed up for MGMAt course and didn't really follow their syllubus.

Good thing is you have all the materials and supplements.

Don't practice with MGMAT CAT exam. CAT exams are supposed to measure your progress only.

Use your latest CAT exam diagnosis and focus on your weak areas. Review supplements related to those areas first. Then attack OG programs assigned to that topic. Repeat this. Then do a CAT exam again. Then see if you actually improved on your previous weak points.
