I have seen/heard too many different ways to do probability [#permalink]  22 Jan 2005, 09:06
I have seen/heard too many different ways to do probability Q's to the point where I am trying to just get my arms around all the different ways to do the problems and pick the one's that I think are easiest for me. On that note, I have written up some of the more common GMAT Probability types below (and included the same in an attachment in Word) and the corresponding ways (there are multiple ways for each type) to think about solving them. Please let me know if:

(1) I am right in thinking that each way to solve the problem is correct.
(2) whether it is "safe" to only utilize one of the ways to solve a certain problem, i.e. could I be setting myself up for failure if I decide to only commit on one way to solve a problem to memory?
(3) which "way" you think is easiest.
(4) let me know if I am missing any way to solve a certain type
(5) let me know if I am missing any problem type that you have encountered
