I'm Italian a and I'm going to take the GMAT to apply for some PhD courses in the U.S. (I apologize if my written English is not perfect, but I never practiced it abroad).
I recently joined the GMAT club and I think the forum is very useful to improve my preparation. However, since I have begun to read the question posted in the Verbal and Quantitative sections my optimism is turning into scare.
I bought the
OG (11th edition) and I found the questions quite easy. Towards the end of the sections the questions become harder, but they are relatively easy. I have some troubles in the verbal section because I'm not a native speaker, but I ace the quantitative questions in the book.
Now It's time for the questions...
1)I haven't still used the PowerPrep software, but I "assembled" a test using 37 quantitative and 41 verbal questions from the book (near the end of the sections). Results: 37/37 Q 36/41 V. Not bad, I thought. But when I saw the quantitative questions on the forum I realized they are harder (and time consuming!) then the
OG quesions. What shall I expect to find in the real test because of the CAT algorithm? Shall I expect to find 37 hard questions or something similar to the
OG questions?
2) The scores for both the sections range from 0 to 60. But I never saw a score higher than 51. Why?
3) Shall I answer all the question correctly to get a score of 51 in the quantitative section?
Thank you!
