Hello All,
I have been preparing for the GMAT since November . However , my score has a very little improvement . I took
MGMAT mock 1 - scored 560
V37 Q29 . My target is 720 + .
The big concern is I am postponing the GMAT for the 3rd time now. I do not want to waste any money , so I have decided to put an extra effort this entire month and be prepared for the exam on 18th March . That means I have 40 More days to go .
1st question -My weakness is the Quant section at this point . Every time I take up a topic and try to master it in 2-3 days , I forget the ways to solve it in a weeks time .So when I am looking at the same question I attempted a week back I go blank with the approach . This demotivates me and I have to brush up the section over and over again to master it .. But .. unfortunately , the cycle repeats.
I suspect my way of studying is not correct . How Can i make a study plan for the Quant section- specially ( Algebra , Word problems that include % , ratios/Proprtion etc) ?
Also, should I go for a online course in Quant to pass the 42+ barrier ? Also, Do you guys think I should take more time to prepare ( I am already exhausted to be honest )
My second question is - How do I utilize /schedule the Tests from now onward ? I have 5
MGMAT Cats and 2 GMATPREP ( mba.com) .
3rd question - I cannot waste another year . I want to finish my exam in March , then concentrate on the B-schools applications . 're there universities( at least top 80 ) that have December '13 intakes ?
Experts please guide me ..
Regards!
I am no expert but may be I can help you. I scored a 43 in Quant; yeah that was a disaster considering that I was scoring a 47 on mocks. I am anyway taking the exam again.
First thing, I guess if your target score is 720, you must wait till you see a 720 on your mocks. So , I would suggest you to give yourself considerable amount of time to prepare.
You got 37 in Verbal. Trust me ,that is an amazing score. I would be the happiest if I can get past that score.
Now, since you keep on forgetting concepts, I would recommend you to make flash cards and revise them once a weak. Quiz ourself every week.
This is something that has helped me tremendously.
If you are exhaused, take a break. An exhaused mind cannot absorb much.
Regarding tests, make sure you analyse them well. Know what is stopping you from achieving your dream score in Quant. Know from your mocks what is that that you need to know more, etc, etc. There's an article by Stacy Koprince on how to analyse mocks. Google and go thru that.
I am sure you will do well.
Kudos if this helps
