I never manage to get these questions right 100% of the time....
Similar to rising interest rates, consumer and producer prices have been rising.
(A) Similar to rising interest rates, consumer and producer prices have been rising.
(B) Consumer and producer prices have been rising, as have interest rates.
(C) As interest rates are rising, so have consumer and producer prices.
(D) Consumer and producer prices have been rising, like interest rates do.
(E) Consumer and producer prices, as interest rates, have been rising.

A - incorrect - rising interest rates and prices are compared
Moreover, similar to is incorrect usage here
C -- As X so Y. no such intention in the question.
'are' and 'have' are not parallel
D like is incorrect, liked is to used only with nouns or pronouns
E as is used as "like" here, this is incorrect usage

What is the OA? It does look like B is right . The subject of the post has confused me as I thought that I had to choose b/w like and as here:)

I chose A.
E is wrong. It should be like
D is wrong because of do in end
C is jumbled up
B seems ok too.
In between A anb B i chose A

Rule: As can only introduce a clause and Like can only be used with nouns or pronouns.
In A, the comparison is faulty as rightly pointed out by AimHigher.
