I took quant sections of Powerprep exams this weekend and scored ok (46-47), but got screwed up on some problems/theories I had never seen before in Kaplan or any other materials. I was wondering if there were any materials that would help me learn to solve problems like this so I don't get messed up on test day? I had never seen a triangle problem like this one...does Manhattan GMAT Geometry book or any other material help with hard problems like this?

from 1: angle prs = angle pqr + angle qpr
angle prs = angle pqr + 30
angle prs - angle pqr = 30

from 2: angle prq + angle pqr = 150
then, angle qpr = 180 - 150 = 30
now the same process as in 1.

so each st alone is sufficient...D

This uses the fact that the external angle PRQ is = 180- internal angle PRS.

S1: As sum of angles triangle PQR = 180

QPR + PRQ + RQP = 180

Given QPR = 30

30 + PRQ + RQP = 180

Now PRQ = 180-PRS

180-PRS + PQR = 150

or PQR + 30 = PRS Sufficient.

S2: Provides the same information.
Sufficient.

Answer: D.
