I was looking at the GMATprep test... they had this

I was looking at the GMATprep test...
they had this question.

(1/5)^m * (1/4)^18 = [1/2(10)^35] ; find m..??

the answer given was m = 36...

can some tell me asap how to solve this...thanx..

You have not put proper parenthesis. I am assuming this:

(1/5)^m * (1/4)^18 = (1/2) * (1/10)^35

Here I go:
(1/5)^m * (1/2)^36 = (1/2) * (1/2)^35 * (1/5)^35
(1/5)^m * (1/2)^36 = (1/2)^36 * (1/5)^35
(1/5)^m = (1/5)^35
hence m = 35

If you still don't get it, post the question with proper parenthesis or upload the screenshot of the question.
