Hi,
This is my first post here, and I'm kinda excited about my acceptance into IE Business School in their MiF '12 Program!
Here's my profile:
Finance Grad from the leading B-School in Bangladesh
GPA 3.3 out of 4.0
GMAT 620
IELTS 8.5
Internship at StanChart Global Markets
Extensive record of ECAs
The best part is, I've been also awarded the prestigious IE Fellowship (worth €15,000)!! :D
I still have a few questions though and would really appreciate if you guys could help out.
The MiF Program is insanely high in the FT Rankings (No.2 in 2012), and IE is definitely one of the best B-Schools in Europe. But I've read quite a few negative reviews abt the school (Poor Career Services mainly) which is surprising given IE's rankings (FT Career Rank No. 1!) Is the school really good overall?
Also, Spain is going through some really challenging times in terms job market. Do you guys think IE's reputation reaches beyond Madrid to London or Singapore? The MiF Program seems to be really job-centric and I want to break into I-Banking after graduation. What's your perception abt IE Career Services?
Please help me out guys!
I am not an expert on IE's career services, but let me ask you: What are your options ? Have you been accepted to a program that is better suited to achievement of your career goals?
Unfortunately I couldn't make the recent AIGAC conference which visited IE. However, the Accepted consultants who did attend were praising IE to the skies; they were really impressed with it.
Either IE's FT ranking is off or the stories you have heard about the effectiveness of the career center are suspect. One of the two, and I don't know which. Have you contacted current students and recent grads of IE's MiF program?
Best,
Linda
