If (3^a)*(4^b)=c , then what is the value of b? 1. 5^a=25 2.

Yes there is.

3^x=36
xln3=ln36=ln(4*9)=lin4+ln9=ln4+2ln3
(x-2)ln3=ln4
x-2=ln4/ln3
x=ln4/ln3+2

Good point HongHu.

The DS is not saying that a and b are intergers :). Thus, it exists infinite solutions with a not fixed.
