If A, B, C, and D are all positive numbers, is the value of A тАУ B greater than the value of C тАУ D?
(1) A + D = B + C
(2) A and B are each greater in value than either C or D.

(2) Doesn't tell us anything about C and D related. Insuff.

B) A = 3 , B = 2 : A-B = 1
C=1, D=-99
C-D=100

B tells us that each A nd B are greater so diff should be greater than C-D.is'nt??

It only tells us that A and B are greater than either of C and D. But that doesn't mean the difference between A and B is greater than that bewteen C and D.
For example,
A = 10, B = 8, C = 5, D = 3
A - B = 10 - 8 = 2
C - D = 5 - 3 = 2

oops, I missed the "positive" part.
anyways, consider:
A=4, B=3
C=2, D=1 ans: equal...
or,
A=9, B=10
C=8, D=1 opposite...
