If a circle with center at the origin passes through the point ( 0,5)
through which of the following points does it also pass?

How do we know we have to use the distance formula?

Every point along the circle will be of distance 5 from the origin. Unless there are choices like 5,0 0,-5 -5,0 (which would be too obvious) you will need to apply the distance formula. Even easier, since the center is at the origin, just draw some right triangles and apply the pythagorean theorem, where the hypoteneuse will be the distance from the origin to that point....do you care to provide the answer choices???
