(1) A + B = 3
(2) A – B = 3

I do not quite understand how the data sets can help solve the question stem.

Are you kidding? Its too easy
Add one to another
2A=6 => A=3. B=0
the number AB is 30

(1) A + B = 3 Insuff
(2) A – B = 3 Insuff
