If a number between 0 and 1 is selected at random, which of the following will the number most likely be between?

1. 0 and 3/20
2. 3/20 and 1/5
3. 1/5 and 1/4
4. 1/4 and 3/10
5. 3/10 and 1/2

Will it be 5 because the range is maximum, i.e. .3 - .5

Thanks

I think you are right, Priti.

We can safely assume that there is an equal chance for every number in the range to be picked, so the greater the subrange, the greater the chance of success.

Compared to the other options (E) covers the biggest subrange, so I agree with your conclusion.
