Shouldn't we consider the word "definitely" here?

Since the question just tells us what would happen if X did NOT intervene, we cannot conclude what would happen if X didn't. Thus the answer has to be (E), which has an element of uncertainty.

Could someone explain following.
12. If Country X does not intervene militarily in Country Y, then the whole region will definitely fall under enemy influence.
It most logically follows from the statement above that, if Country X does intervene militarily in Country Y, then the whole region
(A) Will definitely fall under enemy influence
This one is out.
(B) Will probably fall under enemy influence.
Probably means region may or may not come under enemy influence. How it is different from E.
(C) Will probably not fall under enemy influence
Probably not means region may or may not come under enemy influence. How it is different from E.
(D) Will definitely not fall under enemy influence
This one is out.
(E) May or may not fall under enemy influence
Could be ans but what is wrong with B,C
OA is E.

Does not...will...
Does...maybe...
Using parallel logic.
If Matt does not score a 600 on next week's GMAT, he will not be granted admissions to his target school.
If Matt does score a 600 on next week's GMAT, he may be granted admissions to his target school.

Do you mean 800 gmatt73??
given that without military intervention, it "will" fall under enemy influence,
could we not infer that with military intervention, it probably will not ..??
(which allows for the probability that will too)
