It is tricky doesn't it?

This question is taken from a real GMAT by the way...

The answer, as my two "reserved" fellow gmat takers pointed out above, is E.

The key to this question comes from answering the following question:

Is there a real number greater than 9, less than 11 and other than 10 that
squared would give a positive integer?

Yes, there are many numbers: 98^(1/2), 99^(1/2), 101^(1/2) ...

There is only one INTEGER between 9 and 11. So n has to be 10 and the answer C. The other real numbers 98,99, etc. would not give integers. Since, the question asks for a positive integer, it has to be 10.

only n has to be an integer, not sqrt(n).
