If Sarah were a concert pianist for a major orchestra, she would be famous. She is not a concert pianist since she is not famous.

The conclusion above is unsound because the author does not consider that

(A) Sarah could be a famous actress.

(B) Sarah could be a harpist for a major orchestra.

(C) Sarah could be a pianist with a rock group.

(D) Sarah could be a concert pianist with a minor orchestra.

(E) Sarah could be famous for another reason.

The premise is "If Sarah were a concert pianist for a major orchestra, she would be famous"

Sarah is not famous
But still, she is a concert pianist

Now we know that if sarah were to be a co.. pia.. in a MAJOR orch .. then she would have to be famous.

But the conclusion says " ..since she is not famous". So what is the other possibility????

We have to select an option that undermines the conclusion.
The stimulus concludes that "She is not a concert pianist since she is not famous."
Rephrase -
Sara is not famous so Sara cannot be a concert pianist.

We need to select an option that can show that Sara can be a concert pianist although she is not famous.

Option D is the best.
