If sqrt(x) is an integer, what is the value of sqrt(x)

(3) 11<x<17

(4) 2<sqrt(x)<5

Select with mouse for the OA.
Am leaning towards choice C, as in A we can get sqrt(x) as 4 and -4. Only with B we can confirm that the sqrt(x) is 4. However OA is A

NB:
________
sqrt (x) means positive square root of x. So though the square roots of 16 are 4 and -4, sqrt(16)=4 not -4. Your difficulty probably lies in this distinction

Thank you very much confirming.

Is the following right:

sqrt(x) will yield only +ve number
x^2 = p yields two values, +ve and -ve

How about cube root??

Can you please explain how GMAT defines the roots/exponents
