possibility of x = 8,9,10. By trial and error know that x must be 9. SUFF

statement 2
(36+x)/5 = x solve for x and you get 9

(1) 7<x<11
(2) x is the median of the five numbers

AD-BCE

for (A), plug 8, 9 and 10

8--- 44/5 != integer
9 -- 45/5 = median - solves, SUFF.
10 - 46/5 != integer

so B,C,E are ruled out. Let's look for D.

x is median of 5 numbers is simply rephrasing of the above conditions, and will force the value between 7 and 11. so B is also suff.

answer is (D)
