I wouldn't worry about this question at all since it deals with a subtle difference between writing "the square root of t" and "$$\sqrt{t}$$". You won't see such question on the real test.

1. t is positive. Square root of t can be either positive or negative. Not sufficient.
2.$$t^2$$ is positive and square root of t is a real number.So t should be positive and square root of t can be positive or negative.
Not sufficient.

Combining both statements,we can not proceed further.

Ans : Option E.

I saw this same question in a Mc Graw Hill book and still I do not fully understand, because Official Guide says that we must consider only the positive root.
