(1) M is not odd.

(2) x + y = 12

Given - A 2 digit Number M = XY
where we dont know what are x and y -

St 1) Gives us that XY / YX is Even - Could be 48 , Could be 54 , could be 36, So no single answer can be found out.

St 2) X + Y = 12
Gives - M = 39 / 93 / 48 / 84 / 66 - So no single answer to question "What is remainder when M is divided by 6?" could be found out,

Combining Both - St 1 and St 2

Since M cannot be Odd - Only numbers satisfying St 1 and St 2 both are - 48 / 84 / 66

All of them will give same Remainder ZERO when divided by 6.

Hence Answer

C

1 gives M is even. NS

2 gives M is divisble by 3. NS

1&2 sufficient. if a number is even and divisible by 3, it will be divisible by 6 as well.

REM(M/6)?

(1).

Insufficient

(2).

M can be

39 REM=3
93 REM=3
84 REM=0
48 REM=0
75 REM=3
57 REM=3
66 REM=0

Insufficient

Combining both 84,48, and 66 are eliminated

Hence REM =3

Hence (C).
