(2) 3x + y is divisible by 3

C.
1. Insuff. Y can be 0,1, or 2 or some fraction inbetween say 1/2.
2. Insuff. let y = -3 then x = 2 which is an integer and if y = 3, then x = 1 again an integer. So y can be 0,-3, 3, -6, whatever.

combining both y can only be 0. hence C.

Yes I too think it is (C).My explaination is as the following:
(a)Y can 0,1 and 2.Thus this would not qualify.
(b)(3x+y)/3==>y=3k==>k=-2,-1,0,1,2.....
Thus y can be -6,-3,0,3,6,....

Combining (a) and (b),the answer is 0.Thus the answer is (c).
