1) Possible solutions: (x,y) - (1,4), (-4,-1)

x+y = -5 or 5

INS.

2) x = -y

x + (-x) = 0

the statement 1 was incorrectly put as xy=4 it should be read as x^y

if X and Y are both integers and X < Y

USING 1)
x pow y = 4
is only possible when x = -2 and y = 2
sufficient

USING 2)
[X] = [Y]
insufficient

if X and Y are both integers and X < Y

USING 1)
x pow y = 4
is only possible when x = -2 and y = 2
sufficient

USING 2)
[X] = [Y] and x < y, this can only happen if X and Y are on opposite side Zero. For example Y=5, and X=-5
sufficient
