I wonder if zero is considered integer in GMAT?

0 is considered an even integer. Therefore the answer is D.

Ad statement 1: xy=(y+1)*y. y=0 yields xy=0 which is even. Furthermore since either y or y+1 will always be even and (even)*(odd)=(even) this statement is sufficient.

Ad statement 2: x/y is even. This can only be the case if at least one of them are even => sufficient
