1) y not equal to 1.
2) x+2 is a multiple of y.

Statement 1 : Y<>1 not enough

Statement 2 : Y = 1 or 2

Both : Y=2

So I pick C

C for me too.

if x = ay then (2) -> x + 2 = by = ay + 2.
with both a and b positive integers.
it yields
y(b-a) = 2 -> y = either 1 or 2

(1) + (2) -> y =2
