The answer is A

statement 1: if you factorize 1125, you will get 5^3 * 3^2
so you know X=2. hence sufficient

statement 2 : gives only value of Y, hence insufficient

so x = 2

how did you get D

statement 2: gives only y=3
why are you taking the equation from the first statement.
answer D wud mean that both the statements alone is sufficient to give the value of X.
