Hello Gmatdecoder

Statement 1:
This implies $$x = y^2$$
This is a parabola with multiple values of $$x$$. Thus unsolvable.

Statement 2:
This implies $$y = \frac{x^2}{64}$$
This too is a parabola with multiple values of $$x$$. Thus unsolvable.

Combining the statements and solving:
$$64y = y^4$$
$$y*(y^3 - 64) = 0$$
solutions are $$y = 0,4$$ we drop $$y=0$$ as it is given that $$y$$ is $$+ve$$
Hence solvable and the answer is $$C$$
