if x does not equal zero, 2x=5y and 3z=7x what is the ratio of z to y?

2 to 21
3 to 5
14 to 15
6 to 5
35 to 6

2x=5y
3z=7x

we look for a common variable and find a LCM.

7 (2x=5y) ==> 14x=35y
2 (3z=7x) ==> 6z=14x

therefore 14x=6z=35y
the question asks for the ratio of z to y
which is

z/y
6/35
which is 6 to 35
what am i doing wrong here?

2x=5y
x=5y/2 ...........1

3z=7x
x = 3z/7..............2

5y/2 = 3z/7
z/y = 35/6
