If x is a negative integer greater than -10, is z greater than average of x and -10?
1) z is closer to -10 than x on the number line
2) z = 5x
The average of x and -10 is equidistant from x and -10 on the number line.
1) Sufficient. We can see that z is closer to -10 and hence is lesser than the average.
2) Insufficient. x=-9, z= -45, average(x,-10) = -9.5, So z<average
x=-1, z = -5 , average(x,-10) = -5.5, So z>average
Answer is A
