If x is a prime number, what is the value of x?

1. x<15
2. (x-2) is a multiple of 5

i'll post the answer later.

its a data sufficiency so the answer options are the same as always.

x can be 2,3,5 or 7

1) statement covers the whole range..... insufficient
2) statement (n-2)/5= interger.... only 7 satisfies this eqation.... sufficient

Firstly:

1. Does not give you the answe

2. (x-2) is a multiple of 5

- ALSO DOES NOT give you any specific answer!

x could be 2, 7, 17.. (0 is a multiple of all numbers!!!). We cannot assume that X is less than 15.

both together also does not work!

So E

Nice Question!

(C)

Take the two statements together and the answer can only be one number, 7.

Seems like a Kaplan problem....

You're right. x could also be 2 (besides 7).

So the answer is E.

0/5 is defined, 5/0 is not defined.

It should be "E"
