what is the value of (p-x) / (y-x)?

i'm feeling sleepy now - it's 10:25 pm my time! however, i will give it a shot.

(p-y)=(y-x)

p=2y-x

thus,

(2y-x-x)/(y-x) = 2(y-x)/(y-x) = 2
