C. I assume x2 = x^2

In the given equation, values of x can be 0,5 or -2. We need to check if x can only take -2.
1. x(x-7) ≠ 0 => x≠0 AND x≠7 => x can take values of 5 or -2. Insuff.
2. (x-5)(x+3)≠0 => x≠5 AND x≠-3 => x can take values of 0 or -2. Insuff.

Combining, x can only take -2. So x is always negative.
