(1) xy is less than 0
(2) yz is greater than 0

A.

1. xy<0 means that x and y have different sign. due to "x>y" x - positive, y - negative.
y>z ==> z - negative.

x*z=(positive)*(negative)=negative - suff.

2. yz>0 for example, 3>2>1 ==> 3*1>0 but 1>-2>-3 ==> 1*-3<0 - insuff.
