think of this problem in terms of a number line

zy<zx<0

we are told that
1)z<x..then we know that y is positive..

|x-z|+|x|=|z|

z--(z-x)-----x-----0

if Z >X

x----z---0
would b greater than Z..

z-x is just the difference btw z and x.. therefore |z-x|+|x| is always = |z|

2)
OK so Y>0..great than i now tht z<x..
