Imperial College MBA [#permalink]
26 May 2007, 09:03
Can anyone comment on Imperial College's MBA programme?
They seem to be strong in innovation and technology. Also it seems to be a great location, but I would be interested in anyone else's comments. How would it compare to a Cranfield or HEC Paris MBA ?

You are right about the things you say about Imperial. It's well regarded in the UK, specially in London, but bear in mind about its small size and high costs. I just came from there (even visited Imp) and the living expenses are insane! Cranfield has a slight better reputation and it's also strong @ innovation and general mgmt. However, HEC Paris is the most international one, or the one with the strongest brand outside its country of origin. From a ranking point of view, they are all pretty even if you consider the latest publications.
My two cents!

Thanks brufaber. It's interesting to get other opinions.
I know what you mean about Imperial's costs, it ain't cheap, but the location is certanly impressive. Stone's throw from Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. Then accomidation would set you back about £500-£600K/month for a room in a house, forget about getting a flat on your own, £1000 / month at least. Accomodation at Cranfield is a lot cheaper, but the facilities aren't the best. Then they seems extremely organised.

Have been made an offer by Cranfiled that's hard to refuse.
Despite initially being put off by the facilites, after further research their links in industry and career placement statistics are EXCELLENT.
On consensus it arguably one of the top 10 B schools in Europe. So why not !

I would visit both schools, you might like the atmosphere at one.
I visited both schools, and liked them both, you will get different experiences from the schools. Cranfield is in the middle of lots of fields, and Imperial is right in the middle of London. So, it depends what "experience you want". Look at the size of the class, do you want to get to talk to everyone, if so, go for a smaller school.
Have you looked at Judge, this might suit you as well?
