Importance in Math and Verbal Sections... [#permalink] New post 25 Feb 2008, 11:31
Hello Friends,
I am going to take the GMAT exam soon and i have purchased Princeton Review and Kaplan 2008 premier program. i have almost finished studying the Princeton Review book and i am not feeling very comfortable on both math as well as verbal sections. there are few questions which i feel comfortable with and few with whom i struggle.
Geometry is the one in which i struggle the most. i am getting 60% of my answers correct in data suffeciency. other are all okay but still not comfortable with them at all.
In Verbal i find sentence correction i find it easier but i am losing out on the one when they ask "which answer most weakens the argument" or which one does not suit the argument...stuff like that....

I wanted to take the advise from all you friends out here in the forum on how should i go about doing practice. also my other specific question would be...
--> which sections should i study in both math as well as verbal starting from the most important to the least important.
can you please list out the topics in order of importance.
Thank you for everybodys help in advance.

they are all important, but the schools have no idea which section you do bad on. They only know your Q and V final scores.

So by all means concentrate on perfecting your strengths if you think that can help you get more questions correct.

Thank you for your answer.......

but can you please list the topics in ascending order in math section starting with the most important and ending with the least. please do the same thing with the verbal section.

that way i would be able to concentrate on the sections appropriately.

Thank you

Did you read my answer? No type of question is most important. it's important that you get the maximum number of questions correct. Also, the harder the question, the more important it is. GMAT makes no distinction with the type of question, only difficulty.

I think what he means is what types of questions are most common, i.e. algebra and number properties are more important than / appear more often than combs/perms.

For verbal, all three are critical.
