Improved from 620 to 670 [#permalink]
06 Jan 2010, 07:18
To all GMAT Clubbers, First, to give a background. I appeared for GMAT about 2 months and ago and was shocked to score only 620! So I decided to go for a retake. Just took the exam today and scored 670 (Q46, V36). Though I am not euphoric about it but I am quite satisfied, it's far better than 620 and certainly I feel I have a chance now! Second, it takes off a huge load from my head. It's been tough 2 months to study and go to office (and sometimes cook food as well). So I am kinda happy now.. Now I would really like to thank GMAT club for this improvement. The only materials that I used for preparations are the forum topics, GMAT question of the day, GMAT club tests and several other valuable information available here. Really appreciate what you guys are doing, keep going! Thanks once again! Cheers, Sourabh

Also, what schools are you targeting?

Thanks Franklin!
Last time my break up was 48Q, 28V and 6 AWA. I always knew that my English was not so bad as to deserve only 28! But this time I was a bit disappointed to see my quant go down from 48 to 46. Nonetheless, overall I am satisfied.
Regarding the schools, I am thinking about Said (Oxford), IMD (Lausanne) and Insead at the moment; I need to really drill down more to find out the chances. Any suggestions for other schools are welcome!
Regards, Sourabh

Thats really good. 670 not very high but still its a decent score. 36 in verbal is good enough but you could get more score in math. Its better to start writting essays.

Thanks guys for your insights.
I have started to work on the essays for NUS, Singapore for round 2. In a nutshell, the main reason for going for MBA is that I want to enter into Management Consultancy (preferably in operations and strategy). I guess this is one of the most common interests among IT professionals who are looking for a career switch.
It will be great if someone can also suggest, if it makes sense to apply for R3 of INSEAD, SAID and LBS?
Thanks, SH
