What is " in addition to her work" is "Leakey's contributions to" instead of "Leakey" herself. A, B and C are out.

D it is coz it maintains paralleism- discovery and documentation and correct modifier- leaky's contribution

in C its wordy and awkard..in addition to her blah blah, mary key' work makes more sense. E is not || either, with discovering not being || with documentation...

I think A is correct.
In addition to her work on the miocene homicide fosiil record, Mary Leakey contributed to archaelogy with her discovery of the earliest direct evidence of hominid activity and painstakingly documenting East African paintings.
We need her to refer Mary Leakey... Also, in B is passive and it sounds like "her discovery " is doing not the Mary Leakey.
So in given option A is the best.

I think it is A, her work on the Miocene homicide fossil record and other contribution are separate. Mary Leaker is the correct modifier here

Doesn't it expect a noun rather than a possesive after the comma??
