Congrats!! But yea, $38K isn't even remotely close to "cheap" .... Heck, some of the ultra elites are only a few grand more than that.

Thats what I'm saying. The tution is misleading when you have $10k+ in fees on top of that. I'd rather them be upfront and bake it into their tuition.

Congrats! I am an alum of UM (Bachelor's) btw. GO TERPS! :-D

I'm a tar heel myself. So I'll be in a (good) bind if I get accepted to UNC on Feb 5th. Wife works in DC, but I'd get in-state tuition at Carolina and its higher ranked.

Congrats Xeo, what other school did you get accepted to? What are you leaning towards?

Thanks guys. I'm also in at Wake Forest with some cash. Also applied to UNC (Rd 2.) and Georgetown (applying rd 2). I'm actually all over the place as far as where I want to go. My wife is up in DC (she has her dream job up there) so if I go up there I'll be with her, but I do think Carolinas program is better (and cheaper) and I REALLY like Wake's small size program despite its lower ranking. But then again, if I stay in NC we'd have to do the commute thing for 2 years.

I'll probably make a final decision hours before the deposit is due when I know all my options. Where's that magic 8 ball when you need it?

We sent pics of ourselves wearing our bday suits, with promises of more. Then they give us $$ to make us stop. :-D
