i am sooooooooo happy.....

a couple of hours ago the PhD coordinator called me to tell me that i'm in (!!!). they will email the official offer in a day or two (and send a hardcopy as well...)... but i'm in.... can't believe it.
they also invited me to visit the school, meet the faculty and other students next month....

wow.....

(and still waiting to hear from other schools.....)

Congrats! I guess Wharton likes people to have high GMAT. Is Wharton XYZ as you described in another post? Thanks.

"a faculty from XYZ (one that i specifically mentioned in my SOP) surprisingly (i.e. not scheduled) called me today for a brief chat over the phone. we talked about the regular stuff... why phd, why OB, why now,why XYZ + i had to explain my unique and unconventional career path and choices. she was very familiar with my application material. wharton was indeed XYZ as i already mentioned later in that thread...

while i'm not sure if GMAT score did the trick (i think other parts of my application are as strong as my gmat), i think it did play a role in differentiating my applications from others...

Nice job and congratulations.

I'll save someone else another post by asking: what's your profile?

ale - Congrats!

Seems like Wharton is very friendly to mature (> 30 y.o.) international students. With strong profile.
