I am not pretty sure but this is my try

I will slove it by the simple way
a)
the seat 1 2 3 4

the possibility 2 - 1 -= 2

the possibility - 2 - 1= 2

The total or possible ways = 2+2=4
b)
2 - - 1= 2
1 - - 2= 2
THe total of possible ways = 2+2=4

Correct me if I am mistaken

BTW if any one know another way to solve it please share it with the club.

Good luck all

mba is right on this one
sabr, IMO the easiest way for a problem where there is a limited # of possible outcomes is to just draw them out as mba did.
