in states that allow " school of choice" program, academic success is a key component of a school district's enrollment: not only is a report on students' standardized test scores published in the local newspaper, but on student dropout rates as well. [b]
a. same b. not only is a report on students' standardized test scores published in the local newspapers, but also student dropout rates c. published in the local newspapers are reports not only on students' standardized test scores, but also on student dropout rates d. not only are students' test scores published in a report in the local newspapers, but on a student dropout rates as well. e.a report on students' standardized test scores is not only published in the local newspapers, but also on student dropout rates as well.
QA is C but I chose B. Is B wrong because of the semicolon use where B is a sentence fragment instead of an independent clause alone?

From Bartleby "As with other correlative conjunctions, you should follow each part of the not only … but also … construction with an element of the same grammatical type."

This question , very easy. you see the component in "not only, but also" is required to be parallel. therefore, "not only + on, but also + on" is correct. option B is not parallel compared with E Ask me questions, I am from shanghai and got 760 in GMAT. ha ha ha have a nice day
