i am not quite sure what is AB + BC actually for...is the question worded properly

I want to see what the majority of people think, I have an answer but I don't have any idea how the author get to it.

One thing is for sure, that x>90. So if we had choices where x<90 then could have eliminated those. But that is not the case :)

Even after substituting values into x, I havent reached far ! All seem possible.

The OA is D. but I don't know how the auther reach it?
