For schools - it makes sense. They don't want their student body to be all Chinese or Indians. They want to diversify the school as much as they can. For applicants? unfortunately there are unchangeable things that some applicants need to realistically keep in mind when applying to business schools.

People who think race doesn't play a significant role in admission decisions should read this post.
