It's not uncommon to score lower than practice tests. Some people figure it out after a few tries and get their score up, though so in your case I would at least try again to see if you can get over 700 since your applicant pool is so competitive. I am a bit concerned about your not thinking you are cut out for finance, yet you want to do consulting in something other than IT. You would need to make a pretty strong case for how you plan to make the leap from IT/Tech background to, say, Strategic consulting. Certainly the MBA would be a necessary component, but they are going to want to see things in your background which indicate you have the chops for it. My instinct would be to guide you to city schools in the top 25, with a focus on the schools outside the top 10.
