Hi Jan 2013 applicants, I've just been through the INSEAD application process and have been accepted (starting in Sept 2012). I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. You're welcome to post questions here or pm me.

Hi. Let me be the first to post here. I've just submitted my application for January 2013. It'll be a long time before I hear from them, but at least I'm done. It's such a great relief.

great. where are you from?
Did you apply for January because you are looking for internship or any other reason?
Hi. I'm from the Congo. (D.R.C.). Yes, I applied for the January intake because of internship and because it's the first round. I want to apply for scholarships etc, so I stand a better chance if I apply in the first round. You?

In US, from SE Asia. IT Engineer. I will most likely apply for Sept 2012. But, may change my mind at the last moment. Good to have you here. Did you have any specific difficulties with your application submission?

No, not at all. Everything was smooth.. The only surprised I got was the words limit. I thought I could exceed by 5 to 10 %. But the form won't let you submit until you fix the excess words limits. So I had to rewrite the essays and cutdown on the words. I thought of September intake too. But I really need the internship. I'm changing career and geography... Management Consulting is what I want to do. (From Software Engineering)

No at all.. That was my plan A actually.. They have a good specialization in Global Mining Management that I'm interested in. But I applied to 3 Universities. LBS, INSEAD and Schulich. I'll decide where to go when I hear from all of them..

Hey, help me understand how that works in general.. If Schulich accepted you, then Im guessing you had to give a deposit (few $1,000's?) If you are admitted at INSEAD (for example) and decide to go there in Jan13, then you forfeit your Schulich deposit? Is that it??

Yes, Schulich wants a deposit of 2500 $. That will be paid regardless of outcome of applications of other school. Then If I decide to go to INSEAD or LBS, I'll just have to forget about that 2500. That's nothing compared to the 80 000 I'll have to pay for Tuition to the school. So it's a good bet, I think

Can anyone provide the link for the INSEAD reco questions?
Hey, by reco do you mean recommendation? There is a button on your pdf application that generates those links and you can send them to your recommenders.

Have you they gotten in touch with you at all? I've heard somewhere that they prioritize early applications

Any idea how strict insead is about word limits. Is it okay to go over by 10%?
Is the optional question
6. Is there anything that you have not mentioned in your application that you would like the Admissions Committee to know? (350 words maximum)
meant to explain special circumstances such as gaps in employment or low GPA OR Is it something like a open-ended question asking for any new experience which we haven't mentioned in the other essays?

Just submitted my R1 application. Its taking some time to sink in that I don't have to think about tweaking my essays anymore
While submitting, I did face a problem - after I hit the submit button, adobe crashed. However, I did receive a confirmation email and was able to upload all other documents successfully. I'm worried whether all my application data went through correctly or not. Has any one else had or heard about this issue?
Thanks
