Thanks a lot for your reply. My current GMAT score is quite high (770) and hence there is no scope for GMAT improvement. Secondly, I am an Indian male applicant and I want to apply in the first deadline to maximize my chances. So, if I do not apply in the first deadline of Sep 2012, then I will apply for Jan 2013. Also, last year I was admitted to Indian School of Business and I postponed my admission by 1 year. So if I apply to Insead for jan 2013 I will have to forego ISB admission. However I really want to make one more attempt at INSEAD. I want to wait for Jan 2012 but I feel with 58 indians already admitted it is highly unlikely that I will be selected.
Indeed your GMAT is awesome, as alternateunivese mentioned your best bet is to find your weakest point and try to improve upon it. As you mentioned, R1 for Sept should maximize your chances but still you should really true to figure out on what you can improve on. Of course, I would definitely would not feel comfortable dropping out from the waitlist. I don't think that anyone can really advise if you should drop from the waitlist or not its def your call to make entirely but the only thing I can suggest is that whatever you do, start working on your weakest points immediately so that you are covered in any event. Best of luck!
